Auditions will be held Monday and Tuesday, May 13 & 14 from 6 – 8 pm at the William A. Robinson Theater at Thiel College. Must be 18 or older to audition.

About the Director:

Maria is returning to the GACT stage after directing Blame it On The Movies in 2017 and appearing in two other GACT productions: Steel Magnolias as Clairee directed by Alan Stevens and Mrs.Stanley in The Man Who Came to Dinner directed by Bill Robinson. Her involvement with Community Theater began after college where some of her favorite stage credits included: The Taming of The Shrew, A Flea in Her Ear and The Cave Dwellers. Over the past fifty years, she has acted on stages in the Shenango Valley, Youngstown, Ohio, Columbus, Ohio and Huntsville, Alabama under many talented directors. While living in Alabama she took part in an acting class with actor/producer FX Vitolo. For the last fourteen years, she has directed twenty shows for ACTS Performing Arts Center, The Sharpsville Historical Society, Buhl Park, The Youngstown Playhouse and Black Sheep Players in Sharon Pa, a theater group she co-founded with the late Stephen Dovutovich. Maria continues with ongoing education opportunities from The American Association of Community Theatre where she often participates in virtual roundtable discussions and webinars. She is a strong advocate for strengthening a community through the arts.
